I.S. 220 Brooklyn is a 5-story middle school completed in 1925 by Architect William Gompert. This exterior restoration solved many issues with water penetration building wide. The existing parapet was demolished, permitting the design to restore original ornate medallion and garland motifs to the new parapet. While not a SHPO (NY State Historic Restoration Office) building, the design team approached the restoration with sensitivity to the original design.
