Terrence E. O’Neal, FAIA, LEED AP, TONAB Architecture PLLC Receives Henry Hobson Richardson Award for Public Architecture from AIANYS

Terrence E. O’Neal, FAIA, LEED AP, TONAB, received the prestigious Henry Hobson Richardson Award for Public Architecture, one of three Professional Awards granted by AIANYS as part of the organization’s Excelsior Awards program. The award was granted at the third annual joint reception of the AIANYS awards program and the AGC NYS (Associated General Contracts of New York State) Build NY Awards on the evening of May 6, 2019 at the Albany Renaissance.

Current AIANYS President Mark Vincent Krause, AIA, said, “Terry has been an agent of change in advancing the role of architecture through practice and advocacy in a career recognized by numerous awards over a span of 25 years.”

One of the founding fathers of American architecture, Henry Hobson Richardson was a prominent 19th century architect who designed numerous public buildings in the State and in major urban centers elsewhere in the nation. He popularized a style named for him: Richardsonian Romanesque. The award recognizes AIA members who have made a significant contribution to the quality of public architecture.
